Annual national accounts. The yearly benchmark: real and nominal GDP, the growth rate, GDP in US dollars and per person. A figure for the current year is an estimate or projection until the year is complete, and is marked as such.
- Measured at constant prices, so changes reflect volumes rather than prices. The level depends on the base year; the growth rate is the meaningful reading.
- A flow: it measures activity during each year, and years can be compared directly.
