• The latest figure is 195,390 tourists for Aug 2026, up 1.7% on the same month a year earlier.
• In the first 8 months of 2026 the total was 1.4 million tourists, down 4.3% on the same stretch of 2025.
• Over the latest 12 months it came to 2.2 million tourists, up 0.4% on the 12 months before.
• The change on a year earlier averaged −4.4% over the last three months, against −14.4% in the three months before: the year-on-year decline has narrowed.

• Trend growth over the past 10 years is 6.2% a year (least-squares fit on the logarithm; R² 0.24, a loose fit: the series has not followed a steady path, and this rate says little).
• Measured end to end, compound growth is 18.9% a year over five years and 5.7% a year over ten, on 12-month totals.
• The record high (12-month total) was 2.3 million tourists in the year to Feb 2026; the latest is 4.7% below it.
• The past five years include an exceptional swing in the annual growth rate, so no typical range is quoted.
